Dr. Everett Rogers, author of the Diffusion of Innovation theory, demonstrated how utilizing the diffusion of innovations model could be effective in reducing health disparities in high cervical cancer mortality regions. Dr. Rogers discussed the various characteristics of innovations in relation to Pap smear screening. In addition, Dr. Rogers described how social systems could be used as a productive problem solving method in the adoption of innovations.
